I used to long ago belong to some group named something like "Boatanchors at sco.theporch.com" IIR. 
If you strayed somewhat offtopic, the hounds would immediately  start baying about the "bandwidth lost". 
I went into the "penalty box" a couple times because of my proclivities. 
O the bandwidth! O the grievous loss! I gathered bandwidth was being wartime rationed.
So I said, "Well then, you just keep your group pristine, and I won't sully it further." 

I don't see your post squeezing out more important matter. 
I think ( I hope ) we have room for a little laxity here, a little levity maybe. 
I'd recommend if someone doesn't, well, hit the silk, pal. 
( No, there have been no New Year's libations for me tonite. )
