Very close to running on air test. Been talking with Nick about putting some of his TTY stuff to work. Right now thinking 60 WPM 850 shift, just need to select frequency and time and get this cable between the UGC-74B and the MD-522A fabricated. Have the schematic and already built up cable between radio and MD-522A
Going to start with using Harris 350K before dragging everything into the field and using GRC-106
Have a copy of MTTY on a laptop but looks like I will have all the issues worked out using vintage military equipment before I play around with using the software.

Maybe some day we can have a QSO between ours!

I also have the cables, I ran my set stand alone before I purchased a shelter, then sadly sold it. I was hoping to find the telelype and modem again. It worked quite well, I still have the printout from my first contact, it was with another GRC-142 shelter in FL.

Better solution that a 1/4 trailer. Also costs a lot more, however. Don’t know if the costs outweigh the benefits.

In yet a new effort to move forward into the past I am attempting to get all of the teletype equipment functional with my GRC-106, yes as crazy as it sounds there was something called the AN/VSC-2 that was a GRC-106, MD-522 and a teletype machine all installed in a M151, and thru a series of unusual circumstances I happen to have all the bits for putting one together but don’t think I will be going quite that far being it involves giving up almost all the back set and the passengers seat so I will stick with the stock GRC-106 installation on the mutt and maybe set the MD-522 and the UGC-74 up just outside.
So I pulled the UGC-74B out last night and cleaned it up and did all the regular checks and the like and that’s working. Will be pulling the MD-522A today and cleaning that up and looking for all the cables and the one cable I appear to need now is the data cable for the back of the UGC-74 that’s a type MS3112E 16-23 P connector. I can build the rest. I am also somewhat befuddled by what to do about the printer ribbon. Anyone have any experience with dumping ink on these things?
A while back I tried to join the “Greenkeys” list but for some reason they did not accept me? Perhaps there requirements for association is beyond what the list are here. May have to try applying to that again but figure it won’t hurt to ask around these reflectors first.
