I realize this topic only interests a very, very few, but those types seem to be very interested in the "Forest Service radio" topic.
And I should mention, the Forest Service model SPF, but named Spokane Radio 500A, was built for the U.S. Army also, for use by the 555th
Parachute Battalion in the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Anyway, at the antiqueradios.com website, in the Communications Equipment forum, if you are interested, I published my comments on
the SPF compared to the "Western Wireless Ultra High Frequency Transceiver" seen in the back pages of the Jones 1937 radio manual.

At this moment, I don't know who really designed it. Maybe W.W. decided here was a product they could sell to the wider world, so they
obtained the design from the Forest Service? Or was it the inverse?

My post also comments on the similarity of the National Radio Company TRW and TRM transceivers ( 1934 ) to the U.S. Army's later
( 1938 ? ) BC-222 and BC-322 backpack transceivers, "the first walkie talkie".

I'm not going to reprocess my antiqueradios.com post or my scans here for the other groups I'm sending this too. My allocated playtime
is already used up for the weekend.
