When I worked for an area Generation/Transmission power company we used
a -Behlman-Ivar- variable power supply. It delivered 50-150VAC at
20-1000Hz, 1000Watt from 120VAC/60Hz. We used it for testing harmonic
sensitivity of protective relaying systems and when measuring ground
resistance on our 345KV transmission substations. Sure was a nice box.
I tried to buy it when it got 'retired' (was old fashioned, used tubes!)
after I left, but alas, was told it got "recycled". Be an ideal supply
for your application.
