You have to come across fleeting clues as you dig thru memoirs, histories, and sometimes photos.
I will have to start recording notes better when I come across clues.
I don't want to be one of those "Yeah, I heard somewhere that...
One strong reason I don't think the 288 or 284 sets were used for any kind of clandestine or coast watcher use is,
you wanted crystal control. If you have an urgent observation, you want to come up right away on the monitor
station frequency. Like reporting a flight of Japanese bombers headed their way.
