No kidding?

I am continually amazed at how seldom hackers consider the RECEIVED signal when they 
wish to max out the power output of transmitters.

They never consider that in order to gain a 3 dB, i.e., barely noticable, increase of their 
signal levels at the RECEIVE end requires them to DOUBLE their output power. An increase 
of a few watts is not going to make any perceptible difference.
