The weather was very nice here in Chicken Land this week end so I had a
chance to do some antenna testing out in the back yard and set up my
portable Magnetic Field Antenna "MFA".  I've posted a diagram of my
current "MFA" constructed of "Gutter Spout" which is easily obtained at
your nearest home supply dealer. I realized that the radiation
efficiency of this type of antenna is very low but the antenna is
easily set up and lends itself to portable operations. In addition  when
operating in a high noise RF environment the antenna can be positioned
for best reception to minimize noise. The hollow Gutter Spout material
is easy to work with and 90 degree bends are eliminated by use of
standard fittings - -  however sheet metal screws are necessary at the
joints of sections to ensure low current/voltage loss. An easy DIY project.
