I need to look into this and get a clear understanding when I return home.
I last month shipped a junker SE-1420 to the E Coast. I went to the FedEx website and the rate was pretty damn high, as high as UPS and USPS. 
I thought, this can't be right, it's so far from the quote I got elsewhere ( somewhere I don't remember. )
Then I think maybe I went to FedEx Ground website and there I got the rate quoted earlier. It was a largish 35-40 lb parcel.
It WAS to a home address.
I understand FexEx Ground is some kind of separate subsidiary of FedEx ?
I did set up a FedEx account for myself. I need to straighten this out somewhat for myself as I expect to be heavily in the Ebay selling biz for the
next 2 years.

When there is a heavy item, like the 80 pound box delivered last week, Ground does the delivery instead of Home.

That's the way it works here with the Portland, OR FedEx.
