I have a brute-force filtered power supply I will be happy to donate. I am thinking this could be a dynamotor spinner for low
power equipment.
It started out as a 32 volt DC supply for boat radar. I jiggled the primary connections and came up with 25 volts out with only
the 0.5 A bleeder load. The filtering is a choke and capacitor 9500 uF. The LV fuse was 12A at 32V. I assume if the voltage holds
up, the < 0.1 ohm choke will drop only a volt under full load of 10 A.
This is 14 x 10 x 6 inches; 32 lbs., blue anodized metal so does not need repaint. Needs some cleaning outside and some vacuuming
inside. Has 4 ports on one end : cable in; cable out; two fuse holders, AC and LV. I would remove fuse holders and install only
an internal AC fuse, no LV fuse to blow under start-up load. Then use the two fuse holes for a toggle power switch and a pilot light.
I will give you a crude schematic and a fuse holder and toggle switch. This is not no Heathkit, but it's pretty easily do-able.
I can deliver this to Rickreall, which yes, is far off. Or possibly, altho I'm not enthusiastic about this, Puyallup in March. Or somewhere
along I-5 on my trip north around Thanksgiving.
