That is a VERY interesting video, Brooke, thanks. I saved 4 shots of the
ARR-3 receiver from it. 
I had been thinking about how to effect FM broadcast reception with this
receiver. Using the second harmonic of the
oscillator requires substantial selection of new L and series - parallel C.
If I use a converter, which may be preferable,
I need to select oscillator freqs whose fundamentals don't end up in the
same band that is tuned. Need to think about 
this some more. A converter could even be at minimum, a self-oscillating
FET. 
I am wondering, since the receiver has AFC, will the receiver AFC still
compensate for small drift in the converter ?
