Looking for more bargains on switching power supplies, I found eBay item # 263591328128. 62 amps at 12 volts for an asking price of $8 each; they are unused, NOS with free shipping. 120 vac or 240 vac input, it doesn't seem to care. Seller accepted a $7 offer, so another project is on the way! With David Stinson's eBay $5 Chinese boost converters, it is getting much easier to cobble together decent power supplies to run either dyanmotors or just replace them outright.
Will have to check to see if the 12 volt negative terminal is tied to ac neutral. Should not be all that difficult to cut the connection and float the power supplies so that they can be stacked for 24 volt operation.
What is the world coming to; how cheap can blade center power supplies get?Jim I wonder why people argue over the 10% of their differences and ignore the 90% they agree on?

Series connecting two 12 volt switchers sounds a bit easier. Anyone know of any issues with series connecting them? 600 watt 12 volt (50 amp) switchers running from 125 vac are available on Ebay for $13 each with free shipping.
If you delay start one switcher would you get an automatic step-start function?Jim I wonder why people argue over the 10% of their differences and ignore the 90% they agree on?

Here is a technical sheet on the Astec MVP
supplies:
http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/13491.pdf
https://www.artesyn.com/power/assets/mp1_revc_1192
808420_install.pdf
on the end of each module is a 10-pin ribbon cable
connector. Set the output voltage of each module
as
closely as possible to the same voltage, then
connect
pin 8 on each connector together. This will cause
the
power supplies to load-share.
