That concerns the C-27A. From the wikipedia article on that aircraft, it appears the entire
event is a complete boondoggle from the very beginning.

It costs almost twice as much to operate over its lifetime as a C-130.
Then there was this: "By 2013, newly built C-27Js were being sent directly to the
Davis-Monthan Air Force Base boneyard."
The aircraft sounds like a complete lemon which was foisted on the Air Force by someone
with an agenda.
And we the taxpayers are the victims...as usual.
