Correct. They wouldn't. The pop-ups are in your browser's cache. Clean that out and they
will go away.

If you are using some later version of WinDOZE, there is some thought amongst IT folks
that ALL anti-virus software must have some "hooks" into the operating system in order to
work, making a path for a sophisticated hacker, so the safest anti-virus at this point is
MicroSoft's Defender.
I don't know if you know of Steve (?) Gibson who invented Spinrite (God Bless him for that)
but he recommends only Defender for WinDOZE boxes and gives reasons for that.
