Yes!  The story  that I got somewhere was that it was//a originally 
combined unit intercomnnected. The coolies complained bitterly about the 
weight, so they separated the transmitter and receiver and eliminated 
the interconnected mode.  The interconnected mode is available if you 
remove the boxes or punch holes in them.
