…I was benefit of a some TWA, defense, and RTCA procedings documents.  They are quite facinating and illuminate the evolution of aviation and electronics from WWII into the late 50's.

Jeep, is there any chance those documents gave insight into why 

Command Sets (not Liaison) were built that covered 500-2100 KC?

There’s a lot of apocryphal stories and speculation, but not

a hint of hard documentation.
