Might some of those AR-88s be operated as diversity sets? I have seen
reference to three receivers in diversity with a rather large "signal
combiner" with an antenna farm that was quite extensive.

When I mentioned this photo some time back, some people asked me for a scan.
This is not that great a scan.
About 200 kB the 2 photos. Even at higher scan, straight from booklet, it's
not that great. Perhaps with a better
scanner I could do better. That's in the future.
Source is 'RCA Marine Coast Station Information', 1968. Has WCC, WOE, WPA,
KPH, KHK, DZR, WPD; frequencies,
hours, and rates. What an Empire !
The question was posed, do the AR-88 receivers have any kind of automatic or
remote tuning facility ? It is clear
in the original photo, the AR-88s are stock. In the photo, 4 AR-88 receiving
positions are evident; 3 are staffed.
The center position operator is clearly adjusting the tuning knob on his
AR-88.
