As the radio dude Paul Harvey used to say: And now here is the rest of the story!  I was a bit disappointed that I had missed on on the R-444/APR-4Y at Xenia with the 4 band tuner head. I asked around there and on here, and a few other places where it got to.  Today I found out: I went to work and walked into my lab. There it was on one of my carts!  It turns out my buddy Bob, saw it and said "this looks like Jeff". he asked the guy how much and was told $20, so he bought it & hid it in his truck to bring it back as a gift to surprise me! He succeeded. Not every surplus tale has an ending like this!  The unit has a Hallicrafters property tag on it, making it a little bit more unusual. The tuner is jammed, needing a bit of TLC, but the radio M/F looks great, even has a power connector.  I am happy as hell!  73, Jeff Kruth, WA3ZKR
