I was referring to size and weight relative to items on hand (five 
buildings in two states, remember the topic, "boatanchor"), not how 
simplistic one specialized item you may have in mind may be. You think 
tiny SSB job, I stare at piles of equipment wondering why SSB rigs, on 
average, are 4 - 6 times larger than AM equipment, across 3/4 of a 
century, regardless of manufacturer, design, frequency agility, or era, 
and find the apparent misapplication of the term amusing.

If you want to talk specifically about ease of SSB generation, then we 
can go on about a few diodes, rather than what surrounds them, but 
that's off topic.
