They are used on the ABK and SCR-595-A Mark III IFF sets, the ABF and SCR-695-A Mark IIIG IFF sets, and the AN/APN-4 and AN/APN-9 LORAN A setz, some of which I saw still flying or floating in naval service in the early 1970s. I was assigned to the Royal Netherlands Navy destroyer HrMs Amsterdam D819 in 1973. There was an AN/APN-9 still serviceable though not often in service on board. (We used the Decca hyperbolic radio-navigation system in northern European waters.)

Doubtless those Pye connectors were used elsewhere as well, long after UHF connectors were available.
