[Milsurplus] SC-901X questions

Hi
One of the fun things growing up was an outfit named Glenwood Sales. From the name you
would *think* they were in the business of selling stuff …. not so much. What they did was
store stuff for the Stromberg Carlson / General Dynamics / Whom Ever empire. Much of it
was very obscure. You could wander around the aisles and pick up this or that. You then
went up to the counter to find out if it could be purchased (or not) and what the price might
be today. If the price was a bit high or it wasn’t for sale, the drill was to try again in two weeks.
It’s been almost 50 years since I was last there, I’m sure it’s been gone a long time. My guess is
that whatever one needed for a SC-901 repair was somewhere on some shelf ….

They were typically installed in ICBM silos and you will see them in some of the photo collections on the web. For example, that silo south of Tucson, Arizona, now a museum, still has them in place. Presumably SC- means Stromberg Carlson."

Same can be said of the FRR-21, 22, 23 and SRR-11, 12, 13, all of which run much cooler when the power transformer tap is adjusted to the actual line voltage. The latter will run even cooler when the 400 cycle power transformer tap is also used. From my measurements, the 6.3 vac filament are at just above the minimum spec of 5.8 vac when the line voltage is 123 vac.
