[Milsurplus] MAB misc.

I recently recovered 2 MABs to keep in my living area rather than unheated storage.
I see Ebay had two recently sold, unissued condition, $350 and $240, but *missing*
the antennas. I also found I have 5 separate extra antennas, but I'm not going to
part with any til I determine if I have how many, if any, other MABs I have.

Anyway my question is, I notice the load coil feeds at the top. Speaking from a theoretical
view, would not it make better sense to have the load coil feed at the bottom? As it is,
the max antenna current leaves the coil at its bottom, the reverses direction as it flows
upward into the antenna. Probably the length of the current flow makes this a moot point,
I mean the difference in down and up current flows, but still, a major part of radiation must
be from the load coil, and the maximum current node is at the feedpoint of the coil. What
think?

Also, a question I am going to post to armyradios and G503 also: the green-blue corrosion
product on the metal rings and web tips of canvas bags, how remove that? Especially
considering some of the metal ring parts are inside canvas loops. I suppose, just treat what
you can, and call it a day. For some smarter conservator in the future to solve.

Also, how to wash a TBY bag? Dunno what it is about these, but they have a liking to become
groaty. Thanks to Robert G., I know not to have it dry cleaned. A white radio bag draws fire.
