An airline pilot friend is restoring a Vought F7U Cutlass 1950s Navy jet to flying condition. He has a complete airframe in good shape, two working low time engines and lots of spare components. Lots of work remains to be done but it’s doable. It was a very difficult plane in Navy service but he has the zeal and skill needed to make this happen.

One thing needed that’s proven impossible to find is the Flight Stabilization Amplifier, which was part of the G-4 autopilot system, however, in the F7U it was used as a yaw damper control in the flight stabilization system. The part numbers of these are:

(GE) 519E702-G1 (Mod 3)
(GE) 519E702-G2 (Mod 3)
(GE) 519E702-G3 (Mod 3)

Any model will do. Navy Stock No is R88A-0530-005-000.

Any ideas on where one might be found? It’s a vacuum tube unit.

Any leads appreciated.
