[Milsurplus] [ARC5] Cool New DC-DC Converter

Right on, Mike. I could use it right now for my farm radios, portables and LF beacon receivers that use 1.4-Volt filament tubes and typically require A batteries of 1.5 V for parallel filaments or, 7.5 V or 9 V for series string filaments.

However, my dream B+ power supply for these sets would run off of a rechargeable 2-Volt gel cell.

I assume as a supply for battery sets that require both A and B batteries, Mac.

If you already have the 12VDC, why would you even be concerned about using the low voltage output? I assume (yeah, I know) that one might be considering changing command set receivers to 12V filaments, but don't know why you would want to have regulated filament voltage except maybe for the local oscillator/mixer.

Sounds useful. Question: how much more current does a tube filament take when cold?
