[Milsurplus] HT-12 transformation to SCR0543

I read this artice about the development of the SCR-543 form the HT-12.

 

They mentioned that one of the requirements of the SCR-543 was that all electrolytic capacitors operating above a certail voltage shouwl be a plug-in type for easy replacement. 

 

Did other military radio have plug-in electrolytics?

There is an interesting article in the February 1944 issue of Electronics magazine

explaining how the civilian HT-12 was developed into the Army SCR-543.

 

This issue seems missing from American Radio History on line, so if

anyone is interested I will scan my photocopy.
