I'm now reading Spyplane, The U-2 History Declassified by Norman Polmar. It was previously owned by Edward Lovick of
Lockheed and has interesting post-it notes.
I have his book /Radar Man: A Personal History of Stealth/ on order.
So far there's no information about the payload electronic equipment, but a lot about the various camera systems.
It turns out that a normal aneroid type altimeter will not work at the altitudes where the U-2 flies, so a special
"servo" type is needed.
