I have an for the "Whatzit" contest, see pics at links below. This
complete one and another stripped to the geartrain one were in some junk
a neighbor gave me.  There are two syncros are Autosyn brand, made by
Eclipse-Pioneer Div. of Bendix, Teterboro NJ.   There are stickers on
each with a s/n and p/n saying "Mfd for AC Spark Plug Div., Milwaukee
WI".      The motor is made by Oster Mfg. Co. of Racine WI, labeled
"Phase 1 52V, Phase 2 52V 400 cycles", and "Low Inertia".     The
fast-turning dial is marked 0-9 and the slow-turning one is marked 0-36
(presumable corresponding to 360 degrees).   The ratio is such that one
turn of the fast dial = about .8 increment of the 0-36 one.    The only
motive force is applied by the motor, you can turn the wheels by hand
but it looks to me like they are only intended to provide a readout to
the operator thru a window in a panel, although you can rotate the fast
dial like a thumbwheel.

Very nicely made cast and machined frame and precision gears, looks like
it could have been used in a piece of avionics or fire control gear -
anyone recognize it?
