Good Afternoon Dave,

        It it Ferrite or Iron ?. If ferrite I would clamp it in a vise(
using something to protect it, like brass ) then use a fine cut off saw.
As mention by others a Dremal. Work slowly. Big problem is that the
material is brittle and to much vibration can cause it to break.
