[Milsurplus] What is it? Clandestine?

I picked up this transmitter and receiver at an antique store in
Richland, Washington a few years back.  Both seem to be "commercial"
sets (as opposed to homebrew) and have the distinct clandestine air.

The transmitter is single tube, which is missing, just an octal socket
where it plugs in along with a few jacks for a key and power supply.

The receiver is two tube: Telefunken EF13 and EF14, with a tube type
socket where presumably a battery plugged in.

The labels on both are gummed paper.  Other than the tubes I don't see
any manufacturers marks.
