[Milsurplus] Freq Counter

I found this Wawasee Electronics Frequency Counter at a swap meet in apparently new unused condition:

However its power supply is missing which I assume was a 12-Volt DC wallwart with the center conductor of its coax power connector as the PLUS terminal.  Is anyone familiar with this unit and can verify that this is the correct power? The only info I've found online is for a subsequent model with a model number.  This unit has no model number.  I'd like to check it out with a 12-Volt battery, but want to be sure first.  Help anyone?
