Great work, best wishes for success. Is there any two meter AM activety
in your area? I have never been able to find a complete SCR-522 of my
own to restore. Being able to find the cabinet and control box is the
obstacle I have always run into. The receiver and transmitter modules
are far easier to find, although finding one that is complete and
mechanically unaltered is difficult. Fifty years ago, SCR-522s modified
to one frequency were common at small airfields, along with ARC-3s.
However, the first step of converting them was to trash the
multi-frequency mechanics. A surprising number of them were fully
restored and installed in older, larger, private airplanes. They weren't
kosher by the FCC, but for flying to small airfields without control
towers, nobody cared.
