I couldn't resist: "Ditto !"
I always associate this piece with that 1950s movie, where it accompanies scenes of Napoleon's army dragging cannon over mountain range.
So I think of it as figuratively and literally as "a drag".
Classical music displays high levels of skill, BUT....honestly, not always divine inspiration and true genius. I think enough works were turned in
to fulfill a job quota, get a paycheck, same as in any other creative field.

And the local PBS station, whose idea of "classical" music is anything composed by anyone at least 15 minutes ago, play the darned thing at least once a week.
