[Milsurplus] Quieting A DC/DC Converter

Two questions on this item:What is the black cube between the input and output connectors?At what frequency is this driver board operating?
I think that a lot of the mass produced control transformers have welded E&I cores and may have efficiency trouble at frequencies much higher then line frequency.  Then there is the need for a 24 volt center tapped winding.Jim

I can't wait to get one of these "Inverter Driver" boards.  Several suppliers at varying prices, but all cheap.

300W capacity.  Get a center-tapped transformer, drive it with one of these and away you go.  We got some cool toys these days.
