Hi Todd,
I'm following along on eBay. I bought 2 864's and I'm still looking for 4 more. Its for a IIIA. I'm also considering a UX-199 and 3 ux-120's. Thanks for your reply.

There are usually a slew of them on ebay, mainly later milsurplus examples. The last batch I saw on there didn't sell, suspect they were priced higher than demand by a bit. Here's one priced at about 3 times the typical selling price, but at least he says he's open to offers:

WD-11s and WD/WX-12s, though not plentiful by any means, show up fairly regularly on ebay and elsewhere. I bought close to a dozen in the last year for my Radiola IIIA, balanced amp, and a couple Crosleys. Two were brass based/tipped WD-12s, one for a whopping $5 at the Manassas hamfest. WX-12s are more prevalent, usually in the $15-$20 range. The bakelite based WD-11s are more available as well.

Of course, none of this matters if 864s are the absolute true need. (o:

  Mike,

 GOOD LUCK, they're almost extinct.

You might want to look at: ww.antiquewireless.org/ uploads/1/6/1/2/16129770/43- substitutes_for_the_wd.pdf  (WD-11 Substitutes)
Triode connected miniature power tubes like 1S4, 3S4, 3V4 will also work.
