Mike How does the ARR-41 compare to the 51J3 or R-388 receiver? Seems unfair to compare it to the R-390A.
I have always had a soft spot for the ARR-15. The problem with the wide IF bandwidth is easily tamed by lowering the value of the three IF coupling caps. I get the feeling I am in the minority here but the ARR-15 is a fun radio and way ahead of it's time.
AFAIK, first use by Collins of a variable IF which allowed presetting to the desired operating frequency. Easily converted for SSB use by disconnecting just one wire. And it has two motors, one for tune and another for power. Can't ask for anything more!Jim I wonder why people argue over the 10% of their differences and ignore the 90% they agree on?

I've got a couple of AN/ARR-41 sets in working condition, and one that's not. Twenty years ago they were pretty common, but not the mounts.
