I don't remember if I said so or not. But the tech manual on the set is TM 11-852. I have a reprint available for $19.15 plus postage. It's listed on my web site if you need to use a credit card.

Subject: [Milsurplus] AN/SRT-4A Marine Transmitter
Interim Report:
The guy who worked on it should never been allowed to pick up a
soldering iron. It took time to figure out because it was so squirrelly.
1. He removed the modulation transformer, perhaps because it was
"Unconventional."
2. No voltage to the 813 screens because of some removed resistors from
the dropping string, also disconnected at the high voltage end.
3. No voltage to the buffer because it was connected to part of the
aforementioned resistor string, disconnected at the high voltage end.
4. The dropping string to the oscillator and buffer screen was removed
and brought out to an unused terminal point. Might have been OK.
There are several wires still unaccounted for which are hard to trace.
This is the worst "mod" I've ever seen. Well, there have been others -
each one seems "worst" when you see it.
