Did anyone ever come up with a serious answer? I was an ETSN through ET1 with TSEC clearance from 1967 through about 1975 (before I gave up on the rate because of the drawdown). And I never heard of it.

Subject: [Milsurplus] HARE radio equipment?
I'm looking at a Navy Enlisted Classifications Manual from 1967 - in the Radiomen section, it lists these specialties - so what is HARE?
RM-2325 HARE Operator, Fixed Stations
Operates specialized communication receivers, decoders, test equipment, and associated ancillory devices employing electromagnetic principles at fixed stations
RM-2326 HARE Operator, Mobile
Operates specialized communication transmitters, coders, and test equipment employing electromagnetic principles at mobile stations.
There is also an ET specialty for HARE repairman
Thanks
