I sold an insulated top mast section to a ham in the UK who is assembling an OE-254/GRC bicone antenna. From my experience with that antenna, the TM specifies a dielectric silicone grease on the copper-to-copper joints in the radials to prevent them from freezing up. I believe technically this is poly(dimethyl)siloxane & it comes in tubes. It's also handy for use as a moisture barrier in outdoor coax cable connections. Can anyone name some commercial sources & brandnames for this stuff? I originally got mine as a gift from a DowCorning distributor because it would have cost him more to sell it to me.
