NickLooking at your WRA-3 and 0-1115 manuals, it appears that Hoffman made everything except the O-1115 synthesizer, which was made by Hallicrafters and-or Sylvania under separate contracts. The O-1115 used 39 subminiature plus 7 miniature tubes in the RF section and 8 transistors in the regulated power supply. Pretty late in the "game" (late 1960's) for an all tube design for the military. And the WRA-3 was used to drive a URC-32 power amplifier? Strange!
Eight or so years earlier, Stromberg Carlson had already developed the SC-901 which later came out as the General Dynamics R-1051 receiver and the other variations of transmitters and transceivers based on the SC-901 design. Perhaps G-D ate Hoffman's and Hallicrafters' lunch? Seems that both Hoffman and Hallicrafters faded away not long after.Jim

Thanks to Al Parker and Tony Snider for the loan of the T-827H pages.
In case you are wondering, the WRA-3 is a 600 lb synthesized exciter that has a 4CX250B final delivering 1.5w (15w in High Power mode). It is CW only, but does have an "Auxiliary Equipment Input" feeding a balanced mixer. I haven't found anyone willing to talk about this spooky Auxiliary Equipment yet.....
The 324 page SSB Communications training manual was put together by the Pacific Missile Range (Point Mugu) and includes some Collins material.
Have fun,Nick England K4NYW
