I have at least two NIB AM-8/TRC-1s here. There was a modification to those published in
some ham magazine some time ago on how to modify those for BOTH 6 and 2 meters.\
Normally the system covered from 70 to 100 MHz.
Since the input and output tanks are push-pull circuits, if you connected a capacitor in
series with the main tuning caps, they tuned to 2 meters, and if you used the same cap in
parallel with the main tuning caps, they output on 6 meters.
Maybe something similar could be done with the transmitter and receiver?
I have manuals around here some place.
IMHO, the TRC-1 is a very interesting piece of equipment, and at the time, was pretty far
ahead of its time.
