Couple photos of the National Parks Service type SP5 radio. Voice only transmission; receiver is regenerative so receives both voice and CW.
Battery 2 volt tubes. Frequency around 2400 kHz, one crystal controlled channel. Exact date unk, maybe 1936-37 ?
( The door outside has painted "NPS SP5". The "5" has been overpainted, like some other number was originally there. )
Probably an easy move to 80 meters. I think the output tube is #49.
Not military, but the rangers probably did wear uniforms.
It seems from two equipments I have that Northern Radio ( Seattle ) first contracted out their manufacturing, but by 1940 they already had
an extensive line of their own marine and land fixed plant radio equipment.
