Air King Products Co. of Brooklyn NY was a manufacturer of AM BC radios
starting in the 1930s.  The most famous (and collectible) one is the
art-deco "Skyscraper" model which came in a variety of colorful plastic
cabinets using the then-new material "Bakelite".   The styling was done
by industrial designer Harold Van Doren who is known for his streamlined
designs.    Air King later made radios for Sears.   If you find an Air
King Skyscraper in good shape, you'll be able to sell it for enough
money to buy most any military radio your heart desires ;-)
