[Milsurplus] [ARC5] UPS Rates Going Up 5%

I agree with Glen on this. I have used Greyhound but only for bulky items that I wanted special handling on ( neon signs & racing bicycles). Greyhound by its nature provides a very good record of custody, that is items are loaded by hand by the drivers so there is greater care taken. It is a bit of hassle as far as being station to station. FedEx is my preferred for most shipments of "normal" size and fragileness. FedEx does also seem to take greater care overall in my experience compared to UPS. I have had fewer losses and damage, plus the drivers in my case will take the extra effort to leave the parcel next to a back door rather than on a front porch when no-one is home. UPS always seems to leave them in plain site in these circumstances.

As far as killing the hobby on the uPS 5% upcharge, what's 5% on your average parcel? Probly a buck or two tops on most shipments.

It has been my experience that shipping by Greyhound Bus is more expensive than FedEx Ground and FedEx delivers to the supplied address.
