[Milsurplus] Another solution to tired-looking paint

Here's an original approach to the problem of tired-looking paint finish. Have it chromed ! As you can see, your chromed radio does double duty as a mirror.
Also, unauthorized users won't want to play with it, as there are no control markings whatsoever.
I think the expanded use of chrome was initiated by the Hells' Angels motorcycle gang, who loved to chrome accessories, including helmets.
Just the thing for your tired looking BC-348. Imagine how it would drive the Ebay bidding up. Wouldn't need a 'pilot lamp dimmer' control anymore, but you would need
sunglasses.
Or why not go full-out and do a BC-610 ?
Probably wouldn't do, however, for something to be used in the combat zone.

I felt sure no one, no one in their right mind, would want such a thing, but it seems to have sold. I do not know selling price; I was too disgusted to look into it.
Did see a nice R-392 for $275, not sure if it sold; a nice RAL-7 with a marked price of $75 sold. I sold one tired looking, with some internal mods, BC-348 for $30.
Military boatanchors are a hard sell, I find.

Driving home late at night, around 23:00, same as early in the morning, kind of a white knuckle drive, but more so, the steady rain but plus high winds, plus
tree debris and some branches in the road. These eyes don't do as well with oncoming traffic glare in the rain, as they used to, so it's VERY tiring.
Scanner radio says a lot going on tonite. State patrol reported someone hit a porta-potty on Highway 229, and the car was snagged on it. I don't know what the
porta pot was doing in or near the road. Later call said police and pushed the porta pot over the highway railing off the road. What fun to clean that one up.
Maybe they should just let it be rained on for a few days.
