Ray,
The SCR-288 is clearly based on the AVR-AVT products. For instance, the
SCR-288 receiver is almost identical to the AVR-20, except that the
6-volt heater tubes have been replace with battery (filaments)
equivalents. Pretty neat circuit; superhet with RF stage and BFO in 4
tubes. I wonder if RCA developed 1D8GT and 3A8GT expressly for this
application.
