[Milsurplus] "Lancaster"

It is very true!

Whilst Bomber Command did exactly as was required of them during the war by
Churchill, thereby making an enormous contribution to winning the war, when
the war ended he reverted to politician and turned his back on Bomber
Command in the hope it would win votes. It didn't, as he lost the next
election.

Whilst I would be the first to say he was the ideal leader during the war,
my belief is that he let himself down very badly by not honouring Bomber
Command, and revealed very low integrity IMHO.

Germany started the war, and refused to give up until beaten into
submission. Bomber Command did exactly what was required and paid the price.

Andy

And yes, 55,000 lives were lost in Bomber Command.

It is said that, at the end of the war, while the other UK services were
honored, Bomber Command was snubbed. Is there any truth to that and, if so,
why?
