Yes, you are quite right about that. I noted this when I watched the whole video. I suppose the throat-mic effect is similar.

I believe they are oxygen-mask microphones, not throat-microphones.

There was a bit of discussion of that film on the VMARS forum here in the UK - is the soundtrack a genuine wartime recording? I think it probably is.

And yes, 55,000 lives were lost in Bomber Command.
