[Milsurplus] Was arc-3, now military supply

During the later part of the Vietnam war, the supply system was the bane
of any craftsperson. Response to parts orders was fairly timely, but
the chances of getting what was ordered and what would work was next to
zero. That is why clandestine parts caches and swapping out rigs was the
only realistic way to keep things operating. If you were a first term
and/or draftee enlisted person, you could find a great deal of help
from the right person like yourself at base supply. An astonishing
amount of stuff showed up with missing or incorrect paperwork and was
shoved off into a corner, basement, or wherever. If there was an ARC-27
or other older rig that had fallen through the cracks, it would be
available. It might not be at your base, but the network of young
first termers watching each other's backs could usually find something
somewhere and get it to you with surprising speed. And, of course, in
theater and especially in country, it was not unknown to claim battle
damage or loss to free up extra parts and rigs.
