Anyone remember the old Astronet on 75 Meters?

This was in the winter of 65/66. Listening to the net at a friends shack
about 7PM in Nevada. A W0 mobile checked in, very
weak, but readable.  2 hours later, the same W0 showed up on frequency,
super strong. My friend asked about it, the W0
asked for my friends phone number, and he called. Sure enough he was in
SAC, in Omaha, and using a remote station on the
West Coast, and please don't ask about it on the air again.  It was
common knowledge among the net regulars, but my
friend and I were newbies.

This was back when 75 Meters was a fun band to listen to.
