I have uploaded the 1963 Howeth book, History of communications-electronics in the United States Navy  to LULU.COM and made it available to the public for the cost of printing. $10 cheaper than the one on AMAZON.  ( Chapters 38 (RADAR),39 (SONAR), 40 (RC Aircraft), & 41 (proximity fuse) were eliminated due to page limits imposed by LULU.COM. The advantage to this printing is that it is in an 8 1/2" X 11" format & you don't have to read it from a computer screen. Totaling 630 pages and weighing 3+ lbs, there is quite a bit of information contained in it. I only wish I had read it in 1963.  History of Communications Electronics in the US Navy by L.C. "Bodyguard of Lies" Anthony Brown is billed as the story behind the D-Day invasion, but is actually much more than that. It ties in with the breaking of the Enigma codes and the deceptions carried out to avoid detection of that fact by the German high command.

Alan Turing: The Enigma: The Book That Inspired the Film "The Imitation Game" by Andrew Hodges. "... Andrew Hodges tells how Turing’s revolutionary idea of 1936--the concept of a universal machine--laid the foundation for the modern computer and how Turing brought the idea to practical realization in 1945 with his electronic design. The book also tells how this work was directly related to Turing’s leading role in breaking the German Enigma ciphers during World War II, a scientific triumph that was critical to Allied victory in the Atlantic. ..."
