I've been reading a lot about W.W.II navy electronics and have a couple of questions:
1. Was there then or is there now any Navy equipment that can hear the underwater locator beacons at 37.5 kHz used for 
flight data recorders and cockpit voice recorders?
2. The subject Howeth book makes no mention of torpedo magnetic influence exploders.  The SF maritime web page has the 
manual for the Mk 6 exploder used in the Mk 14 steam torpedo, but I think it was totally deactivated.

Can you tell me if the Mk 14 torpedoes used late in the war used only contact exploders?
